Alexandra received her Bachelor's Degree from DePauw University in 2000, majoring in Music and Anthropology with a minor in Chemistry, after having spent her junior year studying harp at the University of Oregon. She then received her Master's Degree from Roosevelt University in Orchestral Studies in 2002, and did post graduate work at the University of Southern California in Harp Performance and Anthropology.

 

During her years of study, Alexandra's harp teachers included: Sarah Bullen, Sally Maxwell, Edward Druzinsky, JoAnn Turovsky, Harriet Thompson Moore, Cara Bershad, Faye Seeman, Joy Andreasen, and Neva Lydiard. She has also performed in many master classes given by such internationally known harpists as Skaila Kanga, Marie Pierre Langlamet, and Bryn Lewis.

 

She has performed extensively throughout the country as a soloist, with small ensembles, as an orchestral harpist, and has appeared on ABC. Alexandra's playing, "Is filled with care, artistry, and mature interpretation. She is a talented musician, well rounded in her knowledge of music, and has a healthy curiosity in areas beyond music." Alexandra has been teaching harp for twelve years through her personal harp studio in Chicago, IL; at the University of Southern California as a Teaching Assistant, and now at her studios in Anaheim and Palos Verdes. Alexandra utilizes the ABRSM program in her teaching as well as molding programs to fit young adults and adult beginners.

 

Apart from Harp Activities, Alexandra also enjoys coaching and participating in sports and writing articles for various journals including: The Journal of the American Harp Society, Chicago Health Magazine, and Atlanta Health Magazine. Alexandra is a strong supporter of the American Harp Society through the competitions and local chapters. She has served as one of the main directors of the Anne Adams Awards Auditions for eight years, and has also helped to run the National Competitions.
