Instructors - Linda-Rose Hembreiker

Linda-Rose Hembreiker’s artistry captivates audiences while inspiring composers to expand the repertoire of the harp. An active soloist and chamber artist, she has appeared in recital at the American Harp Society-Dallas Chapter and as a guest artist at the University of Texas Pan-American. She has played with numerous ensembles including Irving Lyric Stage, the Octavia Harp Ensemble, the Dallas Wind Symphony, and the American Wind Symphony Orchestra.

 

Most recently, she premiered Yo Goto’s The Talking Trees Tell Great Secrets and Chapman Welch’s Four Pieces for Solo Harp. Ms. Hembreiker also gave a presentation titled “Alexander Technique and the Harp” at the 2008 American Harp Society National Conference, with Alexander Technique teacher Phyllis Richmond.

 

Ms. Hembreiker’s students have won first place in the Julia Louise Herman Edwards Competition and the Dallas Chapter American Harp Society Competition, and are members of regional orchestras including the Lone Star Youth Orchestra.

 

Growing up in Orange County, California, Linda-Rose began studying pedal harp with Ellie Choate. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in harp performance from the University of Southern California and a Master’s of Music in harp performance from the University of North Texas where she studied with Ellen Ritscher. She is currently completing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at UNT.
