Instructors - Erica Walker - Powell

Erica received her Bachelor’s Degree in 2001 from the Eastman School of Music in Harp Performance where she studied with Kathleen Bride.
She has performed extensively throughout Northern England as a freelance harpist with the Northern Sinfonia, the Leeds Sinfonia, the Durham Sinfonia, as well as many others, in historical venues such as 11th century cathedrals, stately homes, and castles within region. She also spent a year on the Queen Mary 2 and the Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise ships through contracts with the Cunard Cruise Lines.
Erica has been teaching for eight years through her private studio as well being the resident harp tutor at the renowned Sage Gateshead Centre for the Performing Arts. This center is known as the British national centre of excellence in music education.
Apart from harp activities, Erica has found time to win a runner-up prize at England’s world famous Cruft’s Dog Show, with her Afghan hound Charlie.
